Hörnefors Central School is a pre-K through 9th-grade school with approximately 400 students. The school is beautifully situated on the edge of the forest and just a stone’s throw from the sea. The school offers access to an indoor swimming pool, an artificial turf field, and ski trails. Our educational work is characterized by thoughtful leadership, dedication, and collaboration among staff, students, parents, and after-school programs. The focus is on safety and learning. We are now looking for a student assistant for our school!

Employment Information

This is a special fixed-term position, part-time (85%), starting August 13, 2026, through December 18, 2026.

Your Responsibilities

As a student assistant, you will provide individualized support to students in their learning based on given instructions and contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment. You will collaborate with teachers and other staff regarding students’ needs and support students in maintaining structure, focus, and active participation in lessons. The role also includes serving as an adult support figure in the school’s daily routine, acting as a resource in the classroom and after-school program, and assisting during recess or other activities as needed. Your responsibilities will be tailored to the needs of the school and the students.

You are a reassuring adult and a good role model who easily connects with students and sees each individual. You create a safe and stimulating environment at school and collaborate effectively with colleagues to achieve shared goals. As a person, you are flexible, clear, and organized. You enjoy working with children who need special support and play an important role in their school day. You have strong collaboration skills, are responsive, and communicate professionally with students, their families, and other stakeholders involved with the students. You are dedicated, share our values, and work toward set goals with a focus on continuous improvement. Personal suitability is very important to us.

Requirements

  • Experience working in a school or after-school program
  • Valid criminal background check
  • Good command of spoken and written Swedish

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified childcare worker or other educational background in early childhood education
