The Upper Secondary and Adult Education Committee is responsible for the municipality’s obligations under education legislation regarding upper secondary schools, adapted upper secondary schools, municipal adult education, special education for adults, and Swedish language instruction for immigrants. The Board is also responsible for work-oriented rehabilitation and the municipality’s refugee reception services. Midgårdskolan is an upper secondary school that offers three college-preparatory programs, one vocational program, an introductory program, and adapted upper secondary education. We are now looking for a student assistant for Midgårdsskolan’s national programs!

Your Responsibilities

The role involves providing individualized educational support in our national, college-preparatory programs. The role includes supporting and mentoring students both inside and outside the classroom, as well as assisting regular teachers with instruction as needed.

About You

We’re looking for someone who is solution-oriented, responsive, committed, and proactive—with the student always at the center. You have a holistic view of learning and are interested in working closely with subject teachers and the EHT team. Familiarity with digital tools in your daily work is a plus. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. The right candidate must be knowledgeable, flexible, and experienced, with pedagogical insight into how different students learn in different ways. We place great importance on interpersonal skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Documented experience working with students with special needs
  • Fluency in spoken and written Swedish
  • Valid criminal background check, as required by the Act on Suitability Checks

Preferred Qualifications

  • Teaching degree
  • Familiarity with digital tools in everyday work
  • Experience as a student assistant/resource teacher
  • Knowledge of the school system
  • Knowledge of or experience with neurodevelopmental disorders (NPDs)

This is a special fixed-term, full-time position, to begin as soon as possible by mutual agreement and continuing through June 9, 2027.
