In Umeå municipality, there is an overall organization for study and vocational guidance (the SYV organization) in primary and secondary schools. You will be part of the organization's joint work. We are now looking for a study and career counselor for Umeå upper secondary schools (UGS). Your work tasks In the role of study and career counselor, you will have conversations with students both individually and in groups, work with study planning and provide information and interact with teachers, students and guardians. You will be part of the school's team and will have several points of contact, such as teachers, the principal and the student health team. The study counsellors within the SYV organization are located at Umeå municipality's four upper secondary schools. Within the framework of the SYV organization, you collaborate with your colleagues in primary and secondary schools to develop study and career guidance with the aim of ensuring that all students in Umeå municipality receive professional and equivalent study and career guidance. About you We are looking for you who have a degree from the study and vocational guidance program. You have experience of working as a counselor, preferably in upper secondary school or adult education. You are a relationship builder who promotes good relationships with staff, students and guardians. You actively contribute to cooperation and collaboration within the student health team. You have experience working with young people and their needs and challenges, and you are committed to supporting pupils in navigating their way through school and eventually into professional life. You are creative and solution-oriented, and have the ability to adapt your methods to meet the needs of different individuals. We are looking for someone who is driven, empathetic and has a genuine interest in contributing to the development and success of young people. A B-driving license and access to your own car are required for this position. The temporary position is filled on the condition that the current study and vocational counselor will be on leave during the autumn and that the position does not need to be taken up by existing staff.
