The Upper Secondary School and Adult Education Board is responsible for the municipality's obligations under school legislation for upper secondary school, adapted upper secondary school, municipal adult education, special education for adults and Swedish language teaching for immigrants. The board is also responsible for vocational rehabilitation and for municipal refugee reception. Employment information The position is a temporary position, full-time, starting as soon as possible by agreement until 2026-08-09. Possible possibility of continued permanent employment is available. There is no possibility of hybrid work. Your work tasks As a study counselor at Umeå Adult Education, you guide prospective and existing pupils/students to education programs in both in-house and external auspices as well as various forms of school. Your duties include common tasks for study and vocational guidance, such as follow-up of individual study plans, guidance interviews and information efforts to individuals and groups. The work also involves collaboration with various authorities, municipalities, education providers as well as companies and industry. As a study and vocational guidance counselor, we expect you to be proactive and identify areas for development and take the initiative for changes and improvements. About you You have high social skills, good communication and collaboration skills and are easy to build trusting relationships with colleagues, companies and students. You are committed, self-motivated and structured, with good prioritization skills and a quality-conscious approach. Furthermore, you are flexible, relationship-building and enjoy working both independently and in teams. We attach great importance to personal qualities that are crucial for success in the role. Requirements Degree from the study and vocational guidance program, or other education we consider relevant to the assignment Experience of digital tools and various business systems, as well as an aptitude for learning new digital systems Unhindered knowledge of the Swedish language in speech and writing, and good knowledge of English Meritorious Experience of working in adult education or guidance linked to adult learners or students A warm welcome with your application!
