Umeå municipality is investing in sustainable growth and strengthening environmental and sustainability work. We are now looking for four administrators who want to contribute to creating a sustainable environment for all residents. With us, you will be part of a team at the environmental and health protection department, where we make a difference together. We work on the basis of the municipality's development strategy for water and wastewater - a long-term plan to ensure good water status, secure drinking water supplies and create cost-effective, sustainable wastewater solutions. One of the elements of the strategy is a plan for individual wastewater management with the aim of ensuring that all small sewers in the municipality meet the applicable treatment requirements under the Environmental Code by 2032. Supervision of small sewers is therefore a central part of our work. The unit is divided into two working groups: one that works with supervision and one that works with examination, processing of notifications, applications and exemptions. About the position As an officer, you will plan, book and carry out inspection visits to small wastewater facilities and be responsible for the follow-up work. Decisions are taken by an environmental inspector. Initially, you will be supported by an experienced colleague until you feel confident to carry out the work independently. The work is varied with both field days and office work. The work may also include advice and service to private individuals and entrepreneurs by telephone, as well as other simple administrative tasks. You will be part of a team that specializes in small sewers, where cooperation and knowledge exchange are a natural part of everyday life. As an officer, you will work independently, but with support from a regular environmental inspector on site. Who are we looking for? You have: completed at least two years of studies in the environmental and health protection program or equivalent environmental training that includes administrative law good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written B driving license. We attach great importance to your personal qualities and suitability. Since the work involves many contacts with both private individuals and entrepreneurs, it is important that you are communicative and service-oriented. You are curious, eager to learn new things and find it easy to build good relationships and cooperate with others.
