Umeå Kultur runs the city library in the Väven cultural center, ten local libraries and a library bus, the Culture School and the Women's History Museum. Another area of responsibility is to support and strengthen cultural activities, especially among children and young people, and to conduct its own program activities. Umeå's public libraries are part of the Umeå region's library cooperation with a common media stock, loan system and the website minabibliotek.se. We are now looking for vacation substitutes for the City Library and some of our local libraries! Your work tasks As a substitute librarian, you will primarily work in public, at the information desk and with general tasks, such as book setting, patron guidance and reference work. One of the substitute positions includes working for a few days with Umeå Summer Zone at Nydalasjön together with staff from, among others, the Leisure Administration. About you We are looking for you who have an academic degree in library and information science. We would like to see that you have experience of library work. You have an inclusive approach and the ability to create good meetings. You enjoy working in an outgoing manner with a focus on a high level of service. You enjoy meeting people of all ages. Other information The positions are temporary vacation positions, part-time 75%. Start 2026-06-29 until 2026-08-16 (weeks 26-33). The length of the temporary positions varies between the services. No library closes later than 19:00 Monday-Friday. The city library is open on Saturdays during the summer.
