
The leisure administration in Umeå municipality wants to contribute to a good living environment by creating good opportunities for active leisure with sports, exercise, recreation and public health. Its area of responsibility includes the operation of sports and leisure facilities, leisure, excursion and recreation areas, facilities for recreational boats, as well as efforts in recreational fishing and mobile outdoor life. The Leisure Administration, through the municipality's joint Associations Office, is responsible for the overall preparation, follow-up and evaluation of the municipality's support for association life and that contacts between the municipality's various representatives and organized association life are strengthened.

Your tasks
Our main and most important mission is to ensure a safe and pleasant environment for our visitors. Your duties will include lifeguarding, cleaning our facilities and working at the reception. You will also have a specific responsibility to supervise our summer vacation workers and some technical control such as taking water samples twice a day and flushing filters. You will receive training in this at your introduction.

About you
In the role, you act as a link between the customer and others in the facility. You need to enjoy working with many things in parallel, being helpful to visitors and work colleagues. Sometimes the pace is high so we see that you can keep calm in situations where unexpected things can happen. As a person you need to have good teamwork skills, good communication, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
Since swimming skills are a requirement as a lifeguard with us, in the recruitment process you will have to undergo a work test consisting of swimming 100 meters (optional swimming mode), followed by 50 meters of swimming with a lifebuoy, then towing a colleague of the same size in a lifebuoy. This must be done in a maximum time of 8 minutes. Additional test consists of swimming 25 meters with lifebuoy followed by longitudinal dive 5 meters followed by picking up lifesaving doll or equal person from 3-4 meters depth followed by 25 meters towing colleague in lifebuoy. The maximum time for this test is 1 minute and 50 seconds.
We would like you to have knowledge of current standards for public swimming facilities.
You need to be 18 years old to be relevant to the service.
Before employment, we will request a valid extract from the police record, as the work includes working with children.
