Are you the one? The Employment and Integration Department is responsible for the integration of new arrivals, labor market issues, activities for national minorities and vulnerable EU migrants in Umeå municipality.
We help with guidance, create opportunities and contribute to new pathways for people who need support to enter and continue in society and working life. As part of the labor market and integration department, there are arenas for testing where we provide workplaces for participants who are offered vocational rehabilitation.
We are looking for two supervisors, if the necessary decisions are made, for our activities.

Arenas for testing
Arenor för prövning operates on the basis of two main missions, work trial and reuse. This means that arenas for trial offer places for participants who need support to move forward towards self-sufficiency. The work placements are within the reuse work that takes place. The work-oriented rehabilitation is mainly carried out in collaboration with the Social Services, the Social Insurance Agency, the Public Employment Service and Region Västerbotten, and the reuse work is carried out in collaboration with Vakin and internally with Umeå municipality.
The heart of our business is the return shop. With a total store area of about 1,900 square meters, we are Norrland's largest recycling store. Our premises are filled with, among other things, clothes, furniture, bicycles, household utensils, books, toys, movies, music, paintings and some building materials.
In the fall of 2024, Arenas for Trials started a building recycling operation, as part of the recycling work already underway. The plan is for the business to sell surplus building materials, in cooperation with the ABC economic association.
Your tasks
As a supervisor, you work in the daily production, and in your role you are expected to both manage the recycling and to provide support to participants on site. This work is usually done in parallel, but in the role of supervisor you are expected to work independently with the recycling work.
In the case of participants, you will be supporting participants in carrying out tasks by showing and instructing. In many respects a colleague of participants with an in-depth knowledge of the activity. Where appropriate, there may be a need from participants to have a sounding board on issues related to the activity but also be able to guide on other issues. You will also act as a support to the supervisor in matters concerning the evaluation of the persons you supervise.
In terms of recycling work, you work with the flow of recycled goods from the recycling houses to the customer in the return shop / return shop - construction recycling. The tasks involve sorting, reviewing / reviewing used goods as well as price marking, exposure / sale of the goods in the return shop / return shop - construction recycling. The work includes customer service and staffing our cash register. In the case of the return shop - construction recycling, the work may also include giving advice linked to the customer's needs in terms of, for example, simpler renovation / construction.
Other tasks may also be relevant.
About you
We are looking for you who have at least an upper secondary education. B-driving license is a requirement.
From your previous professional life, you have documented experience of supervising or working in a supportive function towards other people. You also have experience of working at the checkout and with customer service or other experience from a service profession that is considered equivalent.
If you also have previous experience of working with recycling, it is an added advantage. It is an advantage if you have a forklift license and/or experience of driving a wheel loader.
At work, physically heavy work is common - which means that you as a person should have no problems performing this type of work.
As a person, you are confident in yourself and inspire confidence. You work in a structured, goal-oriented, relationship-building and solution-oriented way. You are sensitive to participants' abilities and needs for adaptation, but work on the basis of promoting empowerment and self-determination of the participant.
Your interpersonal skills are very good. It is important that you share the importance of, and stand up for, the basic requirements of working life.
Good knowledge of the Swedish language is a requirement. Other languages may be an advantage.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
Working hours are scheduled for day/evening and weekend.
