Disability care in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life in proximity and interaction.
Ordinary housing is organized in the disability care and here you will find short-term supervision, short-term housing, relief service and home care and the National High School for children and young people. We have daily activities/employment, housing support and addiction recovery teams for adults over 18.
Byttgränd's short-term accommodation is located at Ersboda and is aimed at children and young people with disabilities based on decisions under LSS.
We offer a relief function for relatives, which contributes to a sustainable and long-term support structure for both the individual and the family. We focus on the individual's needs and conditions and offer a safe, stimulating and stimulating environment. There are playgrounds, wooded areas and a library close to the centre, which enables a variety of leisure activities and outdoor activities.

Your tasks
As a member of our team, you will be part of a work group that together supports the individual's ability to live as independent and meaningful a life as possible. You will contribute to a stimulating and safe environment and actively participate in the children's and young people's everyday lives, which may involve play, crafts, outdoor activities and games. You provide support in daily routines such as meals, cleaning, laundry and personal care. We work from an individualized approach based on evidence-based methods in autism and intellectual disabilities. Another important part of the work is cooperation and communication with guardians.
The work also involves documenting, writing medical records, making implementation plans and managing medication. You are also responsible for administrative tasks, such as planning activities, booking children in based on granted interventions and developing staffing requirements that are used for scheduling in the team.
Outgoing behavior and heavy lifting occur in the workplace. Working hours are day, evening, day nights and every other weekend.
Co-planning occurs between our activities in the Disability Care.
About you
You are a confident, calm and responsive person who creates structure and security for the individual. You treat users and relatives professionally and adapt your working methods to the needs of the individual. You cooperate well and contribute to a solution-focused and development-oriented business where participation and self-determination are at the center. We attach great importance to personal suitability.
In order for you to be able to communicate with users, relatives and colleagues, and to write and read care documentation, you must have a good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
Requirements
At least a high school diploma or health and social care education at Komvux level
Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities
Meritorious
Qualified childcare worker, assistant nurse or other training deemed equivalent by the employer
Experience working with children or adults with autism
Experience with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) or sign as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC)
Positive behavioral support (PBS) or clarifying pedagogy
Experience in low-impact approach to challenging behavior.
Other requirements
By law, everyone working in activities with children and young people under the age of 18 must present a valid extract from the police criminal record at the time of employment.
