Disability care in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life in proximity and interaction. Porfyrvägen 11 is a special housing with service housing for six people with LSS decisions of varying ages and with varying care needs. Here, all residents have their own apartment and we adapt the support to the individual. We now need to expand our team with two new colleagues! Your tasks You will supervise and support people with intellectual disabilities in their everyday lives. You will provide individual, social and practical support to enable and utilize the person's own abilities and thus create the conditions for independence. You work to enable people to participate in their everyday lives and have meaningful leisure and/or employment. The work includes personal care, heavy lifting, practical tasks such as cooking, cleaning and laundry. You will also participate in leisure activities such as going to the movies, exercising, walking and more. Working hours are day/evening, weekend and daytime. Co-planning with other activities may occur. About you We are looking for someone who treats each individual with calm, respect and patience. You work independently and have the ability to take your own initiative. A professional and humble approach and flexibility are qualities we value highly. Great importance will be attached to personal suitability. Requirements High school diploma Some years of experience in care work Meritorious Health and social care program, social worker or other education that the employer considers equivalent Experience with communication aids such as AAC Experience with mobility aids In order for you to be able to communicate with users, relatives and colleagues, write and take part in care documentation and obtain medication, it is required that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. Heavy lifting occurs, transfer aids must be used. The accommodation has pets (cats and birds) so you should not be allergic. The accommodation is a scent-free workplace.
