Disability care in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life in proximity and interaction.
Kålhagsvägen 26 is a group home within LSS. The users live in their own apartments and share common areas. There are currently four people with different disabilities living here. The home also has a cat, so you should not be allergic.
We've almost got our team together, but we still need a few more people to complete the team. Maybe you are the last piece of the puzzle that is missing?
Your tasks
In your work, you guide and support people with physical, mental and intellectual disabilities in their everyday lives. You work to make the individual participate in a functioning everyday life and have a meaningful leisure and/or employment. The work includes hygiene and care work, heavy lifting and transfers, as well as usual household chores such as cleaning, laundry and cooking.
Initially, you will work mainly with one service user, but if the need arises, you will also support the others. Your work with individual users will involve a lot of targeted work and require good dexterity. You will support the user in various activities such as exercise, swimming, going to the movies and playing games.
In your role, you will plan, implement, document, follow up and evaluate the efforts both independently and in collaboration with others. This places high demands on your administrative skills and your ability to plan and structure your work. You will also need to be comfortable working with computers, as this is a natural part of the job. You will also be expected to create and maintain structure to reduce the risk of situations involving threats and violence, while being flexible, thinking on your feet and dealing with unexpected situations.
Working hours are day/evening and weekend shifts every other weekend. There is co-planning with other activities.
About you
You have a good ability to cooperate and it is of the utmost importance that you have a professional approach to users and other actors around our users. You are educational, committed and have a willingness to share our values and work towards set goals and to work with continuous improvements. You as a person should be driven by a desire to see development and change and work accordingly. Your way of working is characterized by flexibility, continuity and security.
You should have a high level of patience and be able to work towards long-term goals without losing focus. To be able to communicate with users and their networks, write and read care documentation and obtain medication, you must have a good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
You will need to be able to communicate clearly and directly with service users, while standing by decisions that have been made. The pace can be fast at times, so it is important that you are able to remain calm, handle stress well and think quickly when needed. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
With us, you will have many colleagues around you, so it is an advantage if you thrive in a larger group. For us, it is important that we have fun together, support each other and look forward to both the working day and the challenges and opportunities it can offer.
Requirements:
High school diploma
Previous experience of working in disability care

Meritorious:
Nursing and care program, pedagogical education or other education that the employer considers relevant
Experience of flame-effective treatment in connection with threat and violence situations
