Do you want to make a difference in people’s lives—every day?
The Support and Care Department in the Municipality of Umeå is now expanding its operations with full-time support assistants for an exciting and rewarding role in personal assistance!
Through close interaction, we aim to be a resource that empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independently. Now you have the chance to help shape a new way of working alongside dedicated colleagues.
About the Position
As a personal assistant, your primary responsibility is to provide support during activities outside the home—such as sports, cultural events, walks, or other leisure activities. The job requires that you be able to handle a wheelchair or other assistive devices, which can be physically demanding at times.
You will be part of the LSS public authority and work closely with both colleagues and individuals. Since this position is new to the municipality, you’ll have the opportunity to help develop work methods and procedures—a task that is both stimulating and meaningful.
The number of hours of assistance each individual is entitled to is determined based on need—you will provide support to several people based on their preferences and life situations.
Work hours are scheduled during the day, evenings, and weekends.
