Disability care in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life in proximity and interaction.
Humlevägen is a group home according to LSS with a focus on intellectual disabilities. The accommodation has undergone extensive renovation in the past year and was reopened at the turn of the year 2024/2025. We offer six accommodation places in a new and fresh environment.
We are now looking for a new colleague! As a Support Assistant, you will be an important part of our team and contribute to creating a positive and supportive environment for our residents.
Your tasks
You will guide and support people with physical, mental and intellectual disabilities in their everyday lives. You work in a long-term and goal-oriented way to create a safe home environment and a meaningful everyday life for our users. The work takes place partly at the home and partly you will accompany the users on their daily activities.
The tasks also include various types of administration such as planning support, producing clarifying material, documentation, record keeping and drawing up implementation plans. Follow-up and evaluation of the work will be a natural part of the business. We place high demands on the ability to establish and maintain agreed structures in the activities.
The work involves nursing work, heavy lifting, threats and violence and a lot of physical activity in the form of walking, cycling and swimming.
Co-planning may take place between our operations.
Working hours are day, evening and weekend.
About you
You have a good ability to cooperate and have a professional approach to users, relatives and other stakeholders. You are committed and have a willingness to share our values and to work towards set goals and to work with continuous improvements. You will work independently and be an important part of the team to support and help our residents to live independently. We would like you to be development-oriented and curious.
Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
In order for you to be able to communicate with users, relatives and colleagues, write and take part in care documentation and obtain medication, it is required that you have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing.
Requirements
Degree from the Health and Care Program, the Child and Leisure Program, the Social Work Program or other education that the employer considers equivalent
Experience of working with people with intellectual disabilities
Experience of low-threshold behavior in connection with situations of threat and violence
Swimming proficiency
An advantage
Experience in using signs as support
Experience in using visual aids
