The disability care services in the Municipality of Umeå aim to be a resource that, through proximity and collaboration, empowers and strengthens people’s ability to live independent lives.

Ordinary housing is organized within the disability care services, which include short-term supervision, short-term housing, respite care, home care services, and the National High School for Children and Youth. We offer daily activities/occupational programs, housing support, and an addiction support team for adults over the age of 18.

Daily activities are designed to contribute to meaningful engagement, personal development, and participation in society, based on the participant’s needs and circumstances. The overall goal of daily activities is to develop the individual’s independence, foster participation, create a sense of belonging, and provide opportunities for work.

Nejden’s daily activities are group activities centered on natural movement, recycling, and the environment. The program consists of both indoor and outdoor activities.

Participants work together, and there is a strong focus on interaction and practicing social skills. We collaborate with clients, family members, and other external partners.

We are now looking for a support assistant who wants to make a difference!

Your Responsibilities

About You

You are someone who has the ability to create structure, plan, and motivate individuals in their daily lives and personal development. To thrive in this role, you need to be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team. You are professional in your interactions, team-oriented, and have basic computer skills. Great importance is placed on personal suitability. You are also flexible, create continuity, and contribute to a sense of security. You work in a low-affect manner and use clear, explanatory teaching methods to strengthen communication and interactions. We place high demands on your ability to interact with the target group in a professional manner, as well as to establish and maintain an agreed-upon structure in the program.
