In Umeå municipality there are currently six short-term homes for children and young people under the Act on Support and Services for Persons with Disabilities (LSS). At our short-term homes, we support children and young people in developing their independence based on their individual circumstances. Sveagatan is an organization that offers short-term stays for young people under LSS. The purpose of the program is to relieve relatives and at the same time give young people a change of environment, community and the opportunity to develop their independence. We are now looking for two support assistants to join our dedicated team! Your tasks As a support assistant, you will work with colleagues to strengthen young people's ability to live as independently as possible. Tasks vary and can include both social and practical support depending on the needs of each young person. You will be involved in planning and implementing meaningful activities - both in and out of the center - such as sports, walks, cultural events, crafts or games. The role also includes the usual household chores such as cooking, cleaning and washing up, as well as documenting according to current procedures. You cooperate with colleagues and have a professional approach to users, relatives and other actors. Cooperation with other activities in support and care occurs. About you We are looking for someone who is calm, confident and committed - with the target group in focus. You have good collaboration skills, a professional approach and enjoy working closely with colleagues, users and relatives. You are aware that it takes time to build relationships and use creativity and playfulness in your approach. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Requirements: Completed the health and care program, child and leisure program, social work program or other education that the employer considers equivalent. Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities. Meritorious: Experience in low-threshold interpersonal skills Experience working with Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) The work involves a lot of movement during the day, and there may be some moving and lifting. You will also need to be prepared to deal with situations where extrovert behavior, threats or violence may occur. Other The work is scheduled day, evening, weekend and with on-call combination. By law, everyone working in activities with children and young people under the age of 18 must present a valid extract from the police criminal record at the time of employment.
