Disability care in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life in proximity and interaction. Within special housing, there are group and service homes according to LSS for people with intellectual and/or mental disabilities. Then you are welcome to our service housing at Sjöråvägen 20, which opens in March 2026! We are an LSS service housing with a focus on social psychiatry. A service housing is a housing with special service for adults according to § 9 § 9 LSS. It is aimed at people with disabilities who need support in everyday life, but who can live more independently than in a group home. We have eleven user apartments, one staff apartment and one shared apartment. Here you will be part of a team that plans together with other group homes for the best quality and security. Your work tasks With a professional and respectful approach, you work closely with the residents to strengthen the residents' independence in areas such as housing, employment / school and leisure. The work is independent but carried out in close collaboration with colleagues and external partners. Threats and violence may occur in the workplace. The assignment includes, among other things: Support at home and in social situations Professional approach and management of different conditions and challenging situations Working hours are day, evening and weekend with day shifts as part of the service. About you We are looking for you who have a genuine commitment to working with people and who treat others with warmth and respect. You are sensitive, calm and confident in your professional role and are motivated by supporting the individual's independence and development. Furthermore, you are full of initiative and want to actively contribute to developing our service home together with colleagues and residents. With creativity and commitment, you find solutions that make everyday life meaningful and create participation for each person. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability. Requirements Health and care program, Child and leisure program with a focus on social work or educational work, or other education that we consider equivalent Experience of working in the care sector Meritorious Experience or knowledge of methods such as ESL (Independent Living), MI (Motivational Interviewing) or Resima Experience of threat and violence situations To be able to communicate with users, relatives and colleagues, write and read care documentation and obtain medication authorization, you must have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both speech and writing. Smoking and animals may be present in the workplace, so you should not be allergic.
