Lantmäteri is one of several activities within the urban planning administration. The department has about 35 employees in a wide range of activities with expertise in, among other things, geodetic measurement and calculation, property investigation, map base management, system development, naming, map production, GIS analyses and visualizations. Lantmäteri also includes the municipal land surveying authority (KLM), which handles property formation matters within Umeå municipality.

Your work tasks
Your tasks will involve both office work and work in the field. You will perform measurement and processing for various assignments and products, as well as processing and calculation of measurement data. This may involve, among other things, measuring for base maps, new construction maps, house layouts, core network measurement and measurement in connection with property formation. The work also includes investigation work, boundary surveys and interpretation work. Out in the field, you work mainly on your own, but are always supported by colleagues.
In addition to surveying and processing cases, you will also be able to work on development work for the surveying activities and the rest of Lantmäteri, for improved solutions and working methods. You will be involved in the work towards a smarter community building process. This may involve, for example, e-archives, new case management systems, e-services and open data.
You will be part of a team of qualified surveying and mapping staff. Your work will include contact with customers and cooperation with other activities in the field of spatial planning.
Surveying activities use total stations, satellite-based measuring equipment (GNSS) and surveying instruments. The mapping activities are carried out with the support of, among others, AutoCad Map 3D and QGIS. Other administrator support includes Tekis-FIR, Public 360, FME and support developed in-house.
About you
We want you to have;
a 3-year degree in surveying/land surveying engineering or other equivalent education.
experience with modern measuring equipment such as total station and GNSS.
experience with modern CAD programs for design and calculation.
some competence and interest in programming, e.g. in FME, python, or similar programming languages.
ability to express yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish.
B-driving license
Meritorious is if you have experience of;
administration and measurement assignments in the exercise of municipal authority and knowledge of the community building process
and/or some knowledge of real estate formation
AutoDesk software
database administration (MSSQL)
work with boundary and archive investigations
