People under the age of 65 who have a disability and extensive needs for support and assistance can apply for personal assistance. A personal assistant helps someone with basic needs, such as eating, dressing, washing and communicating. The assistance is individually adapted and aims to increase the opportunities for people with disabilities to live an independent life.
We are now looking for an important personal assistant for a user in Sävar, where we offer a supplement of SEK 2500 / month.
The assignment
We are looking for you who, with security, clarity and a large dose of creativity, want to create a valuable everyday life for a 17-year-old girl with a rare chromosomal abnormality, intellectual disability and autism. The mission is based at the girl's home in Sävar where she lives with her parents and siblings. Depending on what you plan during the day, it can continue at home as well as on various excursions. You manage the day together with the user.
Duties and tasks
Your tasks will be to help and lead the user through the day. By working with structure and clarifying pedagogy, you will help the user at home but also plan and accompany them on activities and excursions. You create order for the user and together with parents and school you maintain routines but also find new ways of working when needed for everyday life to work in the best possible way.
The user has a big heart and a big dose of charm, and likes things to happen around her. She enjoys music, games, mischief and various outings. There will be plenty of room for quiet and cozy moments together. You will be an important person in the resident's life and in the family's everyday life.
The work includes dealing with all the user's emotions, which you do with empathy, respect and low-effective treatment. You act as a stress regulator, staying calm and focused in situations where the user does not understand their feelings.
About you
We are looking for you who also have a big heart and a great commitment to children and young people. You who want to be involved in developing another person's life and everyday life and who see this mission as something long-term because security and relationships are very important to the user.
The assignment requires you to be driven and resourceful when it comes to activities. You are creative and enjoy fun antics. The service user needs your full focus and you need to be one step ahead. You are patient and can switch between structure and flexibility to create transitions to the next activity or help the user with their emotions. You are a safe point for the user, possess good judgment and personal maturity.
It is desirable if you have a degree in pedagogy, social work or are a trained support educator. That you have worked as a resource in school, have work experience or own experience of children with intellectual disabilities and autism.
The user only sees female applicants for the position.
Scheduled working hours: afternoons after school, evenings and weekends/holidays.
B-driving license is a requirement, as well as access to own car.
As a result of the law on suitability control, an extract from the police's criminal record must be presented upon employment.
