At Umeå fritid, we are responsible for offering the residents of Umeå a rich, equal, equal and sustainable leisure offer, where children and young people's participation and opportunity for development have a special position. We operate swimming, sports and leisure facilities, leisure centers and activities for young people and people with disabilities. We offer Umeå's residents swimming experiences, wellness and are responsible for swimming lessons for primary school students. We are now looking for an experienced and confident unit manager who wants to lead our swimming facilities Navet, Umelagun and Hemgården. Navet is Umeå's largest swimming pool and adventure pool right in the center. We opened our doors in 2016 and in our modern premises we offer swimming, exercise, relaxation and experiences for everyone. We have about 30 employees and in the summer the staff is also distributed to Umelagun, which is a temperate outdoor pool adjacent to the beach at the northern end of Lake Nydala. Hemgården is a facility for seniors located in the west of the city, which is undergoing renovation and is scheduled to reopen in January 2027. Then you could be the one we are looking for! Your tasks As a unit manager, you will lead the work at Navet, Umelagun and Hemgårdens bad. You are responsible for operations, finances, quality and work environment and lead about 30 employees who work in swimming, swimming lessons, reception, restaurant, wellness and operations. For us, it is important that you are a present leader who prioritizes being on site at our facilities. Your office will be located at Navet. The role involves a lot of collaboration and dialog with various stakeholders and actors both externally and internally, which is why it is important that you have good collaboration skills, are humble and communicative. We want to constantly develop the business, and right now the focus is on efficient, clear processes, organizational and quality issues and work environment. You will be an important part of the management team for Fritid bad where we develop our activities together and you report to the head of operations for Fritid Bad. About you We are looking for you with a relevant university education, perhaps with a focus on behavioral science/HR, service, wellness or technology. If you have additional managerial or leadership training, this is positive. The position requires many years of experience as a manager with responsibility for personnel, work environment, operations and finance. Experience in the swimming pool industry, sports facility/facility operation and/or wellness is an advantage but not a requirement. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability and that you have documented experience of leading change work with good results for both employees and operations. If you have worked in both the private and public sectors, this is an advantage.
