Umeå Municipality’s home care service is Umeå’s largest provider, with the most extensive experience in personal care and services. The municipality’s home care service provides various forms of support, services, and care in the home. We are the unit that manages all care services for our home care recipients living in their own homes within the municipality of Umeå.

Job Responsibilities

As a unit manager with us, you will be responsible for operations, home care recipients, staff, and finances. Your primary mission is to ensure that we provide high-quality services where our employees offer the best possible support to our home care recipients. Liaising with other municipal departments and external partners is a natural part of your work.

Your responsibilities as a unit manager include working on:

• staffing planning and talent acquisition
• providing employees with guidance and feedback to help improve care services
• communicating values and encouraging dialogue and collaboration
• systematic workplace health and safety efforts
• rehabilitation and adaptation
• implementing new work methods, such as the introduction of new digital technology

We are now seeking an interim unit manager for the unit in Hörnefors. You will be part of a management team consisting of 17 other managers and business developers, and the group is led by an assistant director and a director.

You are confident and courageous, with strong leadership and communication skills in times of change.

We’re looking for someone who has:

• a college degree, perhaps in social work, or another college degree that provides knowledge of relevant legislation, behavioral sciences, and leadership

It is advantageous if you have:

• experience as a manager, including responsibility for personnel, operations, and the work environment
• experience in elder care, particularly in home care
• completed an internal trainee program for future leaders or other management or leadership training

Temporary position, one opening, full-time, 100%. Starting as soon as possible, by agreement, through August 31, 2027.
