Our department develops the municipality’s capacity for digital transformation using a broad range of expertise. Here you’ll find leaders, system developers, architects, and specialists in areas such as IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, service desk, data, development, and digitization—all working together to drive and coordinate the municipality’s journey into the future.

About the Job

As a unit manager, you will lead and develop your unit to ensure that the unit’s goals are achieved. The role combines operational and tactical leadership with a focus on people, results, and business development.

You will be the immediate supervisor for approximately 15–20 employees within one of our business areas. This could involve, for example, IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, service desk, development, architecture, or data & AI. Which unit you will be responsible for will be determined based on the organization’s needs and your experience.

Your role primarily involves creating the conditions for employees to succeed through leadership, professional development, structure, and support. At the same time, you’ll be responsible for ensuring that the unit delivers high-quality results in line with the business’s goals and direction.

The role includes, among other things:

• Leading, coaching, and developing employees and teams
• Fostering engagement, participation, and clarity regarding goals and direction
• Managing the unit’s finances and contributing to budgeting, forecasting, and follow-up efforts
• Ensuring that we deliver results in accordance with goals, priorities, and shared working methods
• Work on talent acquisition and employee development
• Drive and support change and improvement initiatives
• Create favorable conditions for collaboration within and outside your own unit
• Be responsible for the work environment, HR matters, and recruitment within the unit
• Build strong relationships and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

You’ll be part of our leadership team, where we’re collectively responsible for developing our operations and meeting future needs.

About You

We’re looking for someone with several years of leadership experience who thrives in environments where development and change are a natural part of everyday life.

We believe you are a leader who inspires engagement, builds trust, and helps people grow. You communicate clearly, are open to others’ perspectives, and are confident in making decisions even when not all answers are available in advance.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:

• Several years of leadership experience with personnel responsibility
• Experience with team development
• Ability to lead in complex and changing contexts
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Analytical skills and an understanding of business management
• Experience with occupational health and safety and risk management
• High school diploma. Post-secondary education or equivalent experience is a plus.

Experience in one or more of our business areas is a plus, for example:

• IT infrastructure
• Cybersecurity
• Service desk and support operations
• System development
• IT architecture
• Digitalization
• Data & AI

At the same time, we want to emphasize that you do not need to be a specialist in our technical fields to succeed in this role. Above all, we’re looking for someone who can lead people, develop operations, and deliver results together with others.
