Midgårdsskolan is an upper secondary school in Umeå with around 800 students. We offer three university preparatory programs, introduction programs and adapted upper secondary school. In the fall of 2026, we are expanding our operations with the Child and Leisure Program, focusing on educational and social work. The program focuses on people's needs, development and rights, with pedagogy and social work as central subjects. Creation and problem solving are important elements in all our programs, and through subjects such as music and art, students develop their creative skills and learn to use aesthetic expression as part of the educational and social work. Your tasks We are looking for you who are an upper secondary school teacher in Children's and leisure subjects and who want to be involved in building up the program from scratch. In the start-up phase, you will, among other things: Establish cooperation with the industry to create relevant internships Collaborate with aesthetic subject teachers to integrate creativity and aesthetic expression into the program Developing learning environments that promote learning and creativity At the start of the program in autumn 2026, you will be a mentor and character subject teacher for year 1. You have a holistic perspective on the students' education and work closely with colleagues in upper secondary common subjects to create a strong team. You are responsible for the character subjects and work-based learning. About you We are looking for an experienced, educated and committed upper secondary school teacher, preferably with qualifications in Children and Leisure subjects who wants to be involved in developing the Children and Leisure program with a focus on educational and social work. You have good knowledge of the industry, preferably established contacts, and a genuine interest in teaching. You are solution-focused, responsive and enterprising, with the student in focus. You have a holistic approach to learning and enjoy collaborating with other teachers and student health teams. Experience with digital tools in teaching is an advantage. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability - we are looking for you who are flexible, pedagogically insightful and used to meeting the needs of different students.
