Umeå Adult Education has two support activities: the learning center and the study workshop. Both offer study halls and pedagogical support to students and are a complement to the student's existing education. The position is located at the learning center, but starts at the study workshop until August when one of our colleagues is on parental leave. Everyone who studies in adult education is welcome at the learning center, and in addition to individual support, we also offer activities, for example in study techniques, information about paths to further studies and work, speaking Swedish / English. etc. The study workshop is aimed at younger students between 18-29 and here the focus is on individual support for each one, where we start from each individual's needs and conditions. We coach in the learning platform and can offer customized learning environments and guidance. Now we want to strengthen our business with an upper secondary school teacher in humanities subjects! Your tasks As a teacher, your mission is to facilitate communication, understanding and learning for students. All education is based on national policy documents and objectives, as well as scientific basis and proven experience. In your work, you can be flexible and work with groups as well as individually, and offer a variety of support based on the student's conditions and needs. About you We are looking for you who are a licensed teacher with qualifications in one or more humanities subjects, such as Swedish, English, other languages, social studies, religion, psychology, etc. You have good experience of working with digital tools in teaching. You are also used to individualizing teaching and have experience working with support linked to different students' needs and to adult students. You will be able to build relationships, lead groups and create structure for students in their learning. The work requires you to be a good team player and have a good working relationship with course and training managers and be adaptable as you interact with other activities, training providers and between the different professions of adult education. You will have a good knowledge and familiarity with the use of digital information technology. The post requires you to have an excellent command of spoken and written Swedish and a good knowledge of English. If you have a teaching license, please attach it.
