The adult education department in Umeå municipality is responsible for issues relating to study and vocational guidance and adult education. We are now looking for qualified teachers for Komvux in-house: a teacher of Swedish as a second language and English and a teacher of mathematics, physics and chemistry at upper secondary level for the Adult Education House in Umeå. Your tasks As a teacher of Swedish as a second language and English and as a teacher of mathematics, physics, chemistry equivalent to upper secondary level, you will teach adult students. You will both teach students on site at the school and students who choose to study remotely. In some cases evening classes may be required. All working hours are spent in the Adult Education Building as we place great emphasis on the common collegial exchange that is difficult to achieve when working remotely. About you For these positions, we are looking for you who are a trained upper secondary school teacher with authorization to teach Swedish as a second language and English and you who are authorized to teach mathematics, physics and chemistry at upper secondary level. You have or have applied for a teaching license. You have very good experience of digital tools in teaching and have a good ability to individualize and follow up teaching based on the needs of the students. You are an inspiring teacher with the ability to create structure, context and good relationships. It is an advantage if you have experience of teaching adult students. The position requires that you have good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing and good knowledge of English. We welcome your application.
