The Umeå Region Fire Department provides accident prevention services and emergency response in the municipalities of Umeå, Vindeln, and Robertsfors. The organization includes a full-time station in central Umeå with approximately 90 employees, nine RiB stations with about 150 firefighters on standby, and two volunteer fire departments. Together with 16 other municipalities in Norrbotten and Västerbotten, we are part of the joint emergency management system Räddningssamverkan Nord.
We are currently in an exciting phase of development. To meet the region’s growth, we are building another full-time station in the Umeå metropolitan area while gradually expanding our workforce over the coming years. At the same time, we are conducting a comprehensive review of our organization to create the best possible conditions for a modern and future-proof fire department.
We are now looking for someone who wants to join us in shaping the fire department of the future. With us, you’ll have the opportunity to work on important societal issues, influence the development of our operations, and contribute to greater safety for the region’s residents. You’ll become part of an organization with high ambitions, strong expertise, and a culture characterized by collaboration, commitment, and a sense of community.
Together, we’re creating a safer and more secure society—today and for the future.

To succeed in this role, you are a clear, responsive, and humble leader who builds trust through a respectful and professional demeanor. You have strong collaborative skills and work in a structured manner to achieve set goals. We will place great emphasis on your personal qualities.
You currently work, or have previously worked, in municipal emergency services with duties and responsibilities in the area of prevention. Experience in management or leadership roles involving responsibility for personnel, budgets, and operations is a plus, but not a requirement.
