Individual and family care in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life in proximity and interaction.
The youth residence in Umeå is a support residence for children and young people aged 16-20. Supported housing is a placement alternative, a less intrusive intervention for children and young people who do not have such care needs that justify a placement in HVB. The main purpose of this type of placement is to train and prepare the child or young person for independent living and adult life in a safe environment.
We are now looking for a substitute youth worker to join our team!
Your tasks
As a youth worker, you work with individual support to placed young people in order to give them knowledge and develop their abilities that lead to increased independence. Together with the placing social worker, the young person and any guardians, you identify the young person's need for support and plan how the support will be implemented. The support consists of:
Motivational interviewing
Educational support in daily life based on the young person's needs
Participation in contacts with authorities and other social bodies
Help to maintain and, if necessary, establish social relationships
Support to contribute to a meaningful leisure time
Regular supervision in their own home
Helping with everyday chores with the young person, such as cleaning and cooking.
At Ungdomsboendet, we work on the basis of the child's needs at the center (BBIC). Regular follow-ups and conversation support are carried out to see that the young person is approaching life goals.
About you
We are looking for you with a social worker degree, social educator or other education that the employer considers equivalent. You have experience of working with young people. We see it as an advantage if you have further training in young people with neuropsychiatric diagnosis and solution-focused working methods.
The work requires a driving license B.
We are looking for you who have good collaboration skills and thrive in a role where you can take your own initiatives. You are confident in taking responsibility and enjoy motivating and supporting young people on their way to greater independence. We see you as an open and positive person who contributes to a safe climate for young people. Great importance is attached to personal suitability.
As smoking and animals are present in the workplace, you should not be allergic.
Other information
The service is a full-time temporary position from 2026-06-01 to 2026-12-31. The working hours are arranged, day / evening, weekend and on-call duty on the weekends you are in service.
