Umeå municipality, in collaboration with the social services and Ersängsskolan, has established an operational team that works with early and preventive interventions for students in need of support. The team consists of two employees from the social services' prevention unit and two employees from the school, as well as a coordinator from student health. Your organizational affiliation will be the social services within the unit for prevention and the physical workplace at Ersängsskolan. We are now looking for a safe youth worker to expand our team. Your tasks Your mission within the operational team, together with your colleagues, is to collaborate for safety, study peace and help increase student attendance at school. This work is done together with students but also in close cooperation with guardians, both individually and in groups. In the assignment, you are expected to work independently but also in teams to conduct preventive work and work purposefully with students at Ersängsskolan. The ultimate goal of the operational team's work is to increase goal achievement and attendance at school. The operational team will work in the school to build relationships with students for the purpose of detection and prevention. Provide support to pupils individually at home or outside the classroom in cases of, for example, problematic school absenteeism where the team can help pupils get to school. This support is provided in collaboration with guardians. Support can also be given to pupils in groups based on general needs at the school, for example, value-based work to counteract exclusion and increase confidence in society's support functions, social services and the police, etc. About you We are looking for you who have a social work degree and previous experience in supporting children and young people. We place great emphasis on experience of working with children and families. As a member of the operational team, it is of great importance that you can work with drive, transparency, independence and flexibility. At the same time, the position places high demands on collaboration skills as it involves being part of a team, contacts with various agencies in social services, leisure, police, school staff, student health teams, students and guardians. You are sensitive and confident in your professional role with an ability to make the right trade-offs and priorities. Through your commitment and responsiveness, you build trust and relationships with different parties through individual or group counseling contacts.
