About the role

We are looking for an operational leader who is passionate about communication, driven by the business and easy to translate strategy into concrete plans and activation. Vattenfall Electricity Distribution is in the middle of the energy transition, and the communication function has a central role - not only in telling what we do, but also why it matters. Storytelling is an important tool for you and your team in this work. The energy transition requires understanding, trust and meaning - and that's where you come in.

As Business and Corporate Communications Manager, you have the operational responsibility to plan, coordinate and execute a communications plan that not only aligns with our business but also strengthens it. With the support of your team as well as the Director of Communications, you will ensure a powerful and coherent communication across customer and marketing communications, digital channels, advertising, own channels, content marketing and internal communications. Your mission will be to drive a business-oriented communication agenda in close dialogue with the business. Your team consists of nine direct reports.

The Business & Corporate Communications Unit is one of two departments in the Communications Unit. The second department is tasked with driving the operational and tactical communication agenda for stakeholder & project communication, including media. You will report to the Director of Communications and be part of the Communications Unit Management Team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop business-oriented communication work and ensure proactive and coordinated communication internally and externally in own and purchased channels.
  • Ensure that communication efforts support and strengthen Eldistribution's strategy and goals, in line with the Group's brand and communication strategy.
  • Initiate, plan, anchor and implement communication plans and be involved in producing communication.
  • Be involved in the work with customer journeys and drive the development of communication linked to these.
  • Be involved in the development of communication and drive the development of how we communicate and how we reach out.
  • Initiate, develop and strengthen relationships with internal stakeholders to establish a business-oriented communication department within the Business & Communication department.
  • Lead and develop employees and your team.
  • Participate in the management team of the communication unit and contribute to the development of the whole communication department.
  • Follow industry developments and keep abreast of news and trends that may affect the organization's ability to achieve our goals through communication.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced and confident leader with an operational and tactical mindset. You are a networking relationship builder who skillfully navigates a complex organization and creates successful collaborations. Furthermore, you have a structured and analytical mindset, combined with an operational drive. You should love to initiate internal collaborations, develop plans, plan for the year and then also be involved in the development and follow-up of the efforts made.

As a person, you are positive, solution-oriented and unpretentious. You thrive in a changing environment and drive development with a proactive and businesslike approach. You see communication as a crucial force in strengthening the business and contributing to Vattenfall's overall goals.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Academic degree in communication, marketing or other relevant field.
  • Deficient experience of operational and tactical communication work in large, complex organizations, preferably in infrastructure, socially important organizations or the industrial sector.
  • Proven ability to manage communication work in a structured manner, develop plans and be involved in producing material in both Swedish and English.
  • Experience in managing and developing teams, providing leadership and supporting employees in their work.
  • Documented experience in marketing communication, storytelling, content marketing and internal communication.
  • Experience working on communication plans, packaging materials, creating presentations, thinking in terms of target groups and selling initiatives and activities.
  • Very good communication skills, both in Swedish and English, in speech and writing.
