Company description

The Vattenfall Group has around 20,000 employees. We have been electrifying industries, powering homes and transforming lives through innovation for over a century. We now want to enable fossil-free living and we are driving the transition to a sustainable energy system.

About the role

How can we best help our customers to a fossil-free energy supply?

To offer our customers fossil-free electricity at competitive prices means that we need to understand their needs and the market, and be able to manage the associated risks. We are now looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst for the Commodities Intelligence department!

As a Business Intelligence Analyst you will be part of the Commodities Intelligence department, which works with financial risk management, pricing of electricity, environmental products and development of our BI tools for our sales segments. The team works with all customers and segments in the Nordics and you will have colleagues both in Sweden and Finland. In addition to your teammates, you will work closely with portfolio managers, controllers and Vattenfall IT, among others.

Your main responsibility is to develop and take responsibility for the team's data and BI tools, which are critical for our financial risk management, business analysis, monitoring and reporting. You build, develop and ensure good quality for new and existing Power BI reports. You work with the reports from start to finish, starting with ordering data from source systems to publishing user-friendly reports that meet our stakeholders' requirements for follow-up, risk management, analysis and decision-making. Our ambition is that your work will form the basis for improved risk management and increased quality in our analyzes and reports.

To enable a good business logic in the transformation of data, it is important to have or be able to acquire a good understanding of the electricity market and electricity sales processes. It is also important to be able to work in cross-functional teams and understand the different requirements and needs of stakeholders.

In addition to the above work, we would like this position to take on additional responsibility for building and developing reports for the group's work on environmental values and its internal and external reporting, which includes analysis, follow-up, preparation for cancellation, and GoO and regulatory reporting.

Requirements

To be successful in this role you need to have:

  • Academic degree in engineering, finance, mathematics, economics or similar field.
  • Experience in SQL programming, preferably Azure/Databricks.
  • Experience in data modeling and data management.
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, in speech and writing.

It is meritorious if you also have:

  • Experience working in the electricity market.
  • Experience working closely with sales and marketing.
  • Experience with Power BI.
  • Additional programming skills, preferably Python.
  • Knowledge in financial derivatives.
  • Experience working in scrum teams or equivalent knowledge.
  • Experience with Guarantee of Origin

As a person, you have an analytical mindset and the ability to quickly assess and understand relationships between systems and tools involved. You are customer-focused and business-oriented, as well as a good team player with good communication skills.
