Vattenfall AB Värme Uppsala produces and delivers a total of about 1500 GWh of district heating in Uppsala, Knivsta and Storvreta. In Uppsala, district cooling is also produced and delivered, steam and the plant produces electricity. The business consists of waste incineration as a base and mainly biofuel-fired plants as a complement during the cold part of the year.
In Sweden, we supply district heating, district cooling and steam to industries, property owners and residential customers in fifteen municipalities. Värme Sverige is the fourth largest district heating supplier in Sweden and supplies sustainable heating to around 200,000 Swedish households and heating, cooling and steam to industrial customers. We are particularly proud that our main product, district heating, plays an important role in the new circular society.
About the role
We are now looking for a Chemical Engineer for the Quality and Plant Development department at Vattenfall Värme. The Chemistry group is responsible for ensuring that the processes have the right water chemistry and environmental performance with regard to waste, surface and groundwater. We work closely with the operations department and the environmental group to optimize the plant and ensure that we have a safe and stable production.
About the job
In the role of chemical engineer you will work both in the office and out in the production environment. We offer a varied job where you will have the opportunity to learn a lot about water sampling and maintenance of analytical instruments.
In the role of chemical engineer, you work in a team with other chemical engineers and are responsible for the ongoing operational work. This includes sampling, analysis, maintenance of instruments and handling of external analysis results. You will also support projects with your expertise when needed. An important part of the work is to monitor and support daily operations, with a particular focus on ensuring that feed and process water maintain the right level of purity and that condensate water is purified to approved values. The role also includes being an expert in chemicals, ash and water resource management.
