About the role

Sweden has embarked on a historic transition and is facing a comprehensive electrification of society. To demonstrate our ambition to contribute to the energy transition and to continue to enable increased electrification of Sweden, we aim to distribute twice as much electricity in our grid by 2030 and to transmit electricity with 99.99% reliability.

Do you want to make a real difference for Sweden to succeed in the energy transition and achieve the climate goals? Then apply for the role of Connection Engineer.

The Grid Connections unit is now looking to expand with additional Connection Engineers to the Connections department. The department is responsible for new connections and connection changes 16-250 A and rebuilding of Vattenfall's distribution network at the customer's request 16-1500 A.

The position suits you who like to handle challenges at the intersection of technology, customer and society.

Your tasks

Sweden is facing a changing energy landscape where the need for new connections remains high, although the growth rate has stabilized. As new businesses are established and communities develop, continued expansion and adaptation of the electricity grid is required. As a connection engineer, you will often be the customer's first contact with the electricity network company and play a key role in ensuring that the connection process is carried out correctly, efficiently and in accordance with technical requirements and local conditions. You will thus play a key role in ensuring a positive experience for the customer and that we are perceived as an enabler of sustainable development in society.

In the role you will:

  • Act as the customer's natural contact throughout the connection case, where you are responsible for proactively keeping the customer updated with the right information and status.
  • Plan and project connection cases to find the best and most efficient solutions.
  • Carry out electricity network calculations and draw up customer quotes, project descriptions and calculations.
  • Order the execution of contractors, review preparations, follow up and report project finances.
  • Responsible for and conduct continuous dialogue with contractors and installers.
  • Work independently but in close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders for your connection cases.
  • Contribute to the continuous development of internal processes and procedures.

Requirements

We are looking for you who have a keen eye for technology, a structured approach and who thrive on working together to achieve common goals. In the role, you have many contacts, so we are looking for you who are social and thrive on collaboration. You enjoy helping others, take your own initiative, are driven and are happy to find solutions when challenges arise. In the dialog with customers, you are communicative and sometimes extra clear when needed. You adapt easily to changing circumstances and can remain calm even in more pressured situations.

You also have a good ability to plan and prioritize your work effectively. We value your personal qualities and your willingness to learn, develop and contribute is an important characteristic.

Your background

  • Post-secondary education in electrical power, energy or equivalent professional experience.
  • Good computer and system skills, as much of the work is done in various IT systems
  • Easy to express yourself in Swedish in both speech and writing. English may occur in the role.

It is an advantage if you have experience from the electrical industry or a role that includes contact with customers, installers and contractors.

We have the privilege to be part of the journey when the energy industry is changing, which requires you to be adaptable but also gives you great opportunities for both personal and professional development. We advocate and support continuous learning, which is needed to be able to adapt to new requirements, conditions and consequences in terms of "new technology", new regulations and the like.
