The Technical Department at Business Unit Vattenfall Power Solutions develops and implements projects and assignments and provides internal technical specialist services in a single competence center for all of Vattenfall's operations, Group staffs and stakeholders. This involves activities in the form of feasibility studies, analyses, investigations and project planning in nuclear power, nuclear fuel management, hydro power, thermal power, wind and hydrogen. The focus within the business unit is to develop our competence in strategic areas to work towards Vattenfall's development towards a fossil-free future.

In the Electric Power and Automation competence area, we are currently about 20 employees and with us you get the opportunity to work with challenging assignments within the Vattenfall Group, you get freedom under responsibility with great opportunities for remote work, to control your working hours and to create solid relationships in your assignment. You will work with highly competent colleagues in your own area of expertise as well as in other disciplines. Your tasks

As an engineer with us, you may work in assignments with our clients as well as in assignments under our own auspices. With your technical skills, you will contribute to solutions to complex problems from a holistic perspective.

Your tasks in electricity/automation can vary and depend on your background, but can, for example, consist of having a contributing or leading role in the work in the areas of regulation, control equipment and instrumentation:

  • calculations, analyses and investigations
  • new, rebuilds and extensions
  • identifying and evaluating plant and stakeholder requirements
  • developing and evaluating principle solutions
  • developing documentation for decisions and procurement
  • system and plant design
  • developing documentation for design in both hardware and software

Your background

We are looking for you who have

  • education in engineering, civil engineering or similar in the relevant field, or equivalent knowledge acquired in another way
  • at least 5 years of experience in control systems in the process or power industry
  • good ability to express yourself in speech and writing, both in Swedish and in English
  • driving license B

Advantageous if you have experience

  • of SCADA, DCS, RTU at system level
  • from work with ventilation systems

More information

Location Solna, Gothenburg, Uppsala, Västerås, Gävle, Nyköping or Oskarshamn. Travel is included as a natural part of the service, but we are actively working on technical solutions to reduce the proportion of travel.

This service is out over several locations, it is the same service but as it has flexible placement, it is advertised in different locations.

Business Unit (BU) Vattenfall Power Solutions is a business unit of approximately 430 people within Business Area (BA) Vattenfall Generation that supplies nuclear fuel to Vattenfall's nuclear power plants, develops and implements projects and assignments and provides internal technical specialist services for all of Vattenfall's operations, Group staffs and stakeholders. This includes activities such as project management and project support, analysis management and investigation, product development, nuclear safety and dam safety assignments. The focus of the Vattenfall Power Solutions business unit is to develop our capabilities in project management and selected key technical disciplines. We work actively with continuous improvement initiatives and development of our models, where our work and competence create great value for Vattenfall and its investments.
