Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Hydropower's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society where we play an important role as an enabler for the sustainable energy system of the future.Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. Do you want to work with a sustainable energy supply, contributing to a better, greener future? Read on because we are now looking for an Environmental Coordinator for Vattenfall Hydropower in Luleå, Umeå, Sundsvall or Solna
You will belong to our environmental department, which is part of the Projects and Technology unit, which is responsible for plant management, investigations, technology management, implementation of investment projects, dam safety and of course our environmental work. In the environmental department, you work together with competent colleagues in fine premises in Luleå. Here are examples of your responsibilities/tasks:
- Environmental coordination linked to our production, maintenance and project activities
- Ensure the self-monitoring of the business
- Supporting the business in environmental issues, risk assessments, chemical management and auditing
- Creating environmental awareness by holding environmental training and communicating environmental work, getting the environmental issue at the top of the agenda
- Follow-up and training of local environmental coordinators
- Ensure that environmental preparedness exercises are carried out as planned
- Dialogue with authorities regarding environmental issues including reporting of deviations from applicable laws, regulations and environmental conditions
- Work with Vattenfall Vattenkraft's legal compliance, be an expert in environmental law issues
- Ensure that we conduct environmental work in accordance with ISO 14001
- Develop Vattenfall Vattenkraft's environmental work by planning and implementing activities in line with the environmental policy, environmental objectives and the Vattenfall Group's instruction "Environmental Governance".
Requirements specification
We are looking for you who have a university or college education in environmental science or equivalent. In addition, you have environmental knowledge and experience of working with:
- Environmental Code
- Self-monitoring
- Environmental management system (ISO 14001) and systematic environmental work
- Environmental protection technology
Experience in hydropower, the Water Framework Directive and project management would be an advantage.
The role of environmental coordinator involves interaction with many stakeholders, so to succeed you will need to be confident, clear and a good communicator and collaborator. The job also requires you to take initiatives and decisions. We think that the environment is important to you, to get it at the top of everyone's agenda, so here you need to engage and motivate in a geographically dispersed business.
You have good IT skills, you speak and write Swedish and English and have a B driving license. Travel in the service occurs, you travel, among other things, to the relevant facilities and to participate in various project and collaboration meetings.
