Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. About the role
We are now looking for a fisheries technician for Vattenfall's fish farm in Heden, Boden!
Vattenfall is one of Sweden's largest fish farmers. Every year, around 1.5 million salmon/sea trout are released into the rivers. Environmental issues are in focus for the business and Vattenfall works continuously with measures to reduce emissions or other environmental impact.
Vattenfall's work involves farming and stocking salmon, sea trout, whitefish, grayling and eel. But it also involves maintaining fish ladders, measures for fish migration and fish tagging. We have six fish farms in Sweden. The background to Vattenfall's fish farming is that power companies are obliged to compensate for fishing and fish stocks damaged in connection with power plant expansion.
About working as a fisheries technician
At the fish farm in Heden, we work with compensation farming of salmon, sea trout and trout for release in the Lule River according to water rights. The work is carried out based on the needs of the fish and we strive for the best possible fish welfare and animal care.
As a fisheries technician, you have a central role in the daily care of fish and plant, the work takes place both indoors and outdoors and we move a lot on foot during the working days. The work has both a biological and technical focus and places high demands on responsibility, cooperation and commitment.

Requirements specification
You have an upper secondary or post-secondary education, preferably with a focus on science or technology. Experience in animal husbandry is an advantage. We would like you to have experience of similar practical and responsible work where accuracy is crucial to the result.
We are looking for you to be versatile, proactive and to take charge of what needs to be done. You are safety conscious and accustomed to solving different types of problems that may arise in a complex facility that needs to operate safely and securely 24/7, all year round. You work in a solution- and result-oriented way and are happy to share experiences with your colleagues. The Heden team is small and we need to complement each other.
You need to have good IT skills and good knowledge of Swedish and English. You have a B-driving license, additional driving license qualifications may be an advantage.
