Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Hydropower's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society where we play an important role as an enabler for the sustainable energy system of the future.Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. About the job

As Head of Asset Management, you have overall responsibility for ensuring that our hydropower facilities in Sweden and Finland are managed in a structured, efficient and long-term sustainable way. This means that you are responsible for ensuring that there are action plans for the facilities for the current year and in the long term, over 30 years. You are also responsible for taking care of this year's plan and that optimization is done if changes are needed.

You drive and coordinate the work of the asset management process to identify and prioritize actions to ensure the availability, lifetime and safety level of our assets. You will work closely with other managers in the different departments of the company and lead an experienced and competent team of highly committed employees. Your team is geographically dispersed, which means a digital and present leadership. You will report to the Head of Technology and be part of her management team.

Example of responsibilities

  • Ensure that BU Hydro Nordic complies with laws, regulations and internal guidelines within plant management
  • Lead and develop an experienced team responsible for actions both within capex and opex
  • Develop and implement working methods and processes for long-term plant management
  • Prioritize and plan actions, based on risk and profitability, within given financial frameworks from this year's plan to plans over 30 years into the future
  • Ensure optimization and adjustment of the action plan when change is needed, such as breakdowns or cost deviations
  • Ensure risk and profitability analysis for measures
  • Responsible for staff, budget, work environment and follow up on goals and ensure compliance with Vattenfall's policies and systems

You capture employees' perspectives and help create consensus and direction in a technically complex context.

You are motivated by contributing to socially important infrastructure and are driven by building sustainable processes that work for the entire organization - today and for the future.

We are looking for you who have:

  • Civil engineering degree or other relevant education - or equivalent competence acquired through work experience.
  • Good experience in technical management, production or investment, preferably from the energy sector or equivalent complex technical activities
  • Documented experience of leadership
  • Good understanding of financial management and investment calculations
  • Very good knowledge of Swedish and English, in speech and writing
  • B driving license

Meriterande:

  • Experience of working in a regulated environment
  • Experience of change management in a technical environment

Location

The location is primarily Solna, Luleå or Umeå, but for the right candidate, other Vattenfall locations may also be relevant.
