Safe energy production in a changing environment

The importance of hydropower for the green transition and as a socially critical infrastructure through its electricity production is being challenged by the increasingly rapid digital development and an increasingly uncertain environment. In order to adapt the business to these changes in the world around us, we are now further strengthening the organization with new management positions in security.

Vattenfall Vattenkraft is now recruiting a manager for the Safety department

The Security department is part of the staff unit IT & Security, a unit that has overall responsibility for these functional areas in Vattenfall Vattenkraft's operations from Lule river in the north to Göta river in the south.

The department provides specialist support within security. We work with areas such as security (information security, physical security and personnel security), data protection, signal protection, fire protection, protection for third parties (Public Safety), security incident management, continuity and crisis preparedness, and civil defense. Our security work is based on being one step ahead and that we work actively with environmental monitoring, continuous analysis, realization of plans and cooperation with external parties.

There are currently around 20 people in the department based in Luleå, Storuman, Umeå and Norsjö. The department consists of two groups that manage; Security coordination and processing , respectively Authorization and security administration . The groups are led by two group managers who report to you.

We are looking for someone who has experience in leading change and who thrives in a learning and goal-oriented organization. As head of department, you have a clear responsibility for development issues, budget within your development areas and the department's overall delivery.

You will report to the unit manager for IT & Security and be part of his management team. You will work closely with the unit manager, as well as safety protection manager for Vattenfall Vattenkraft and also hold the role of deputy safety protection manager.

Your background

We are looking for you who have organizational skills, a holistic view and credibility that is based on both professional and life experience. As a leader, you are committed, open, initiative-taking and structured. You attach great importance to creating results and sustainable plans, and in this way can lead the work forward in an educational and development-oriented manner.

You have a focus on collaboration and enable cross-functional work. You also have the ability to implement complex and changing requirements and communicate these based on developed plans. You see collaboration and continuous improvement as natural paths to success and you create the conditions for open and clear communication both within your own department and with other parts of the company. Basically, you have education at college/university level in security/security protection, economics, law and/or technology or equivalent competence acquired in another way that is deemed relevant. In addition to that, you have worked as a leader with responsibility for operations and personnel for at least five years, it can be meritorious if you have experience of leading other managers. You have good experience of digital working methods for, for example, meetings and a working method characterized by structure and proactivity.

You have solid experience of working with development issues, preferably in security and/or crisis preparedness, as well as good knowledge of the application of security protection. We would like you to have experience in the energy industry, work with suppliers, contract management and contacts with authorities.

You express yourself clearly in speech and writing, both in Swedish and English. Travel in the service will be included and you need a B driver's license.
