Are you the one?

Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 580 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Hydropower's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society where we play an important role as an enabler for the sustainable energy system of the future. Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. To deliver high availability in our production, we need to constantly challenge ourselves, develop our working methods and take advantage of digital opportunities. You will be an important part of that work!

Hydro power is a cornerstone of Sweden's electricity system. Thanks to its flexibility and controllability, our plants can deliver both base load and regulating power - a capability that is becoming increasingly important as the energy system changes and the need for balance increases.

To meet the demands of the future, our fleet of hydropower plants and dams needs to be continuously renewed. Society is facing a major transition to achieve the climate goals, which requires both more electricity and increased regulation capacity. We have high ambitions to further develop and expand hydropower within our existing facilities, Vattenfall Vattenkraft's investigation and project activities are central to achieving high goals.

We are now recruiting a manager for the Project Unit within Vattenfall Vattenkraft Norden

You will be part of Vattenfall Vattenkraft's management team. The project unit currently includes about 65 people, four of whom are department heads who report to you.

As a leader in this area, you have a strong interest in continuously improving working methods and strategic direction, by taking advantage of lessons learned both within the organization and from the outside world. A key part of your role is to train and support steering committees, project owners and project managers. You will be responsible for establishing clear frameworks and structures for projects, including project directives, project plans, procedures, reporting, reviewing, monitoring, decision support and documentation.

As our projects are largely based on collaboration and contract management, you will also be responsible for developing business models and contract structures. Together with the procurement department, you will lead the work on contracts in the tendering and procurement phases, ensuring that the business case for the projects is robust and well established.

Through collaboration with other parts of the Vattenfall Group, you will ensure access to resources and expertise, while leveraging existing knowledge and common tools.

We work according to Vattenfall's project management model and strive to achieve project excellence by leveraging the Group's collective capacity and experience. In this way, we create results and capture best practices to continuously develop our way of working.
