As Head of Unit for Operational Radiation Protection, you will be a key person in the Protection department at Forsmark. The department is responsible for managing operational issues in the areas of protection of human health, the plant and the environment. The Operational Radiation Protection unit is central to this work and is responsible for performing, developing and managing tasks in radiology and operational radiation protection. About the job
The unit consists of four groups with a total of approximately 40 staff members. During audit shutdowns, up to 80 staff members are added in shifts, which places high demands on leadership, planning and operational coordination. You have direct personnel responsibility for four team leaders and indirect responsibility for both employees and contracted staff.
The role of Head of Unit for Operational Radiation Protection is suitable for those who want to combine a present leadership with an important social mission in a complex industrial environment. Your main task is to maintain and develop the unit's operational work to ensure a good status of radiation protection.
The unit is in a phase of gradual development, where your ability to create structure, develop competence and build trust in the teams will be central. Together with your team leaders, you will have the opportunity to shape a common direction and help establish an active and sustainable work culture.
The unit focuses on further developing cooperation and promoting a good working environment in an organization with many different competencies and areas of cooperation. To succeed in the role, we would like you to have experience of leading employees in different professional roles and work environments and to see collaboration as a natural and important part of leadership.
The radiation protection area is technically complex and regulated - therefore it is important that you have a curious approach and a desire to understand the core of the business.

Requirements
We are looking for a present and driving leader who thrives in a larger, operational environment where you lead through others and make people grow. The role requires the ability to translate goals into practical implementation and to create structure in an evolving business.
As a unit manager, you work closely with your team leaders and therefore feel confident in leading other leaders, supporting their development and creating the conditions for their groups to function both in the short and long term.
You thrive on tactical work and are driven by improving working methods and interactions in everyday life, while building what may eventually become a more strategic direction. You have an ability to build trust in both administrative and operational environments and are used to building collaboration between different professional groups.
