As Head of the Project Engineering unit, you will be responsible for a unit that has the operational responsibility for ensuring technical content in the planning and implementation of our electricity network investments. The unit is responsible for providing specialist technical expertise in our investment projects and participating in the design of facilities and lines within our regional and local network.

The unit consists of about 50 employees, divided into four departments, where the department heads report to the head of unit. The employees are technical specialists in the various technical areas needed to build facilities and infrastructure for the electricity network. The unit is composed of staff with a depth and breadth of expertise with a resource emphasis on control equipment

Duties and responsibilities

  • Management of the unit's responsibilities: The Head of Unit manages the unit's responsibilities and ensures that the activities are carried out efficiently and in line with the organization's objectives.
  • Management Team Member: The Unit Manager is a member of the OU Asset Investments management team and has his/her own unit management team, consisting of four direct reports.
  • Competency Assurance: Responsible for ensuring the right competencies to fulfill the mission of providing specialist expertise to civil engineering projects in engineering areas such as construction & ground, primary equipment, control plant, cable, overhead line, substations and earthing.
  • Collaboration: In addition to collaboration with line managers for project activities, there is collaboration with the Plant Development Unit on issues related to technical development and the development of technical guidelines.

Requirement specification

We want you to have.

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in management roles and preferably with experience of managing other managers.
  • Experience from project operations in infrastructure or civil engineering.
  • Good knowledge of the technical areas of expertise, facilities and processes required to build facilities and infrastructure in the Swedish electricity network.
  • Civil engineering or equivalent
  • Swedish and English fluently in speech and writing
