Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and approx. 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are approximately 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Hydropower's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society where we play an important role as an enabler for the sustainable energy system of the future. Job description

You will be part of a maintenance team consisting of mechanics, electricians, warehouse technicians, alarm technicians, team leaders and managers. We work with supervision, preventive maintenance and remodeling projects. at hydropower plants mainly along the Luleälven.

As a mechanic, you will primarily work with generators, turbines (and their auxiliary equipment) as well as intake and extension hatches. Examples of responsibilities/tasks:

  • Installations, repairs and service
  • Analyze and report errors or deficiencies, write reports and document in our maintenance system
  • Participate in reviews together with electricians, production technicians, control plant engineers and contractors
  • Work to develop both planning and methods so that work is carried out safely, efficiently with proper risk assessments
  • Participate in our planning and preparation of both maintenance and project work
  • We would be happy if you could also take on a role as a leading fitter.

Requirements specification

We are looking for you who have high school or post-high school education in mechanics/maintenance or another relevant field. You can also acquire equivalent knowledge via work experience.

It is advantageous if you have experience in mechanical maintenance at hydropower plants (generators, turbines with associated auxiliary equipment and inlet and outlet hatches) or any other industrial activity.

We use several IT systems for, for example, planning and maintenance, good IT habits are therefore important. We would like you to have experience with Office365, work with documentation, drawings and schedule reading.

Safety in the workplace is number one, you need to be an attentive and confident colleague who enjoys collaborating in teams. Good knowledge of Swedish (both spoken and written) and preferably English and a B driving license are requirements for the position. Travel is common, overnight stays occur.
