We are now looking for a mechanic at Stornorrfors!

As a mechanic at Vattenfall Vattenkraft, you will work with mechanical maintenance and projects at hydropower plants.

You will be part of a maintenance group based in Stornorrfors, Lycksele and Storuman. The group includes mechanics, electricians, alarm technicians, storage technicians, team leaders and managers. We work with shutdowns and status assessments, preventive maintenance and rebuilding projects in the Ume River and Skellefte River, we can also support colleagues in other parts of the country if necessary.

As a mechanic, you will work mainly with generators, turbines and their auxiliary equipment as well as intake and discharge hatches.

Here are examples of your main tasks as a mechanic with us:

  • Status assessments and maintenance in cooperation with electricians, production technicians and contractors
  • Reporting and analyzing collected data in our maintenance system (SAP)
  • Installation, repair and service of equipment
  • Participate in dust inspections
  • Develop and improve working methods to ensure safe and efficient work with careful risk assessments
  • Active participation in the planning and preparation of maintenance and project work, we would like you to eventually take on a role as a senior fitter.

Requirements

We are looking for you who are careful, safety-conscious and enjoy working in a team. You have a secondary or post-secondary education in industrial, workshop technology, mechanics or maintenance. Alternatively, you have acquired equivalent knowledge through work experience.

Experience in mechanical operation and maintenance work at hydropower plants or similar industrial activities is meritorious.

You have a good IT habit, good knowledge of Swedish and English and a B driving license. The position involves travel, including overnight stays.

Safety is our top priority, and we are looking for an attentive and safe colleague. You will take responsibility for ensuring that the work is carried out both efficiently and safely, with a focus on continuous risk observations.

You will be based at Stornorrfors power plant (about 15 km west of Umeå)
