About the job as a mechanic at Vattenfall Vattenkraft

In this position, you will work with mechanical maintenance and projects at hydroelectric plants.

You will be part of a maintenance group based in Stornorrfors, Lycksele and Storuman. Electricians, mechanics, alarm technicians, warehouse technicians, team leaders and managers work in the group. We work with supervision, preventive maintenance and reconstruction projects at hydropower facilities in Västerbotten County.

As a mechanic, you will primarily work with generators, turbines (and their auxiliary equipment) as well as intake and extension hatches. Examples of your areas of responsibility and tasks:

  • Work on overhauls and maintenance with electricians, production technicians and contractors
  • Installations, repairs and service
  • Participate in pond inspections
  • Analyze and report errors or deficiencies, write reports in the maintenance system (SAP)
  • Work to develop our methods so that work is carried out safely and efficiently with accurate risk assessments
  • Actively participate in the planning and preparation of maintenance and project work, we would like you to assume a role as a leading fitter in the future.

Requirements specification

We are looking for you who have a high school or post-secondary education in, for example, industrial/workshop technology, mechanics or maintenance. You can also acquire equivalent knowledge via work experience.

It is advantageous if you have experience in mechanical operation and maintenance work at hydropower plants (generators, turbines, intake and discharge hatches) or similar industrial operations.

You have good IT skills, good knowledge of Swedish and English and a B driver's license. Travel and overnight stays in the service will be included.

Safety in the workplace is number one, you need to be an attentive and confident colleague who enjoys collaborating in teams. You take great responsibility for the work being done efficiently under safe conditions with ongoing risk observations.
