What does a Mechanical Engineer do with us?

Our customers are in energy and grid companies, industries, infrastructure companies, real estate companies and construction companies. As a Mechanical Designer, you design steel structures for switchgear installations 10-400 kV, which can mean both new construction and maintenance projects in network stations. We work in Autodesk Inventor (3D) and AutoCad (2D).

Vattenfall Services works, among other things, with the service and maintenance of communication and control plant equipment on the distribution, regional and national network. As a Mechanical Designer with us, you will work with construction in projects of varying sizes. The work includes everything from re-drawing and updating documentation to new construction.

Examples of tasks/responsibilities included in the role:

  • Plant design in CAD environment
  • Minor design adjustments for, for example, equipment replacements
  • Design documentation for steel and foundations
  • Check and redrawing of existing drawings


Requirements specification

We know that you will develop together with us. But we would like to see that you already have:

  • Technical education with a focus on electrical power or mechanical CAD at YH level. Alternatively, equivalent knowledge through work experience
  • Good knowledge of CAD
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both in speech and writing

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Experience of working with electric power plants 10-400 kV
  • Knowledge of strength calculations
  • Weight minimization of steel structures
  • Experience of cost calculations and tenders
  • Experience of design in Autodesk Inventor and / or AutoCad

In addition to your technical skills, we attach great importance to your personal qualities. As a person, you are good at building relationships, both with internal and external stakeholders, and you are happy to share your experiences. You are an initiative-taking person who has a structured way of working and is flexible and adapts easily to new conditions.
