About the role

We at Vattenfall IT are now looking for an Operation Engineer within Linux who wants to work with the development and delivery of IT services, where secure and stable operations are high on the agenda. Your main tasks will consist of daily operation, monitoring and alarm management of infrastructure platforms and driving development in your area. As an Operation Engineer, you will have a varied job with broad responsibilities in a delivery that covers everything from Linux server, 3rd line support and system updates.

We collaborate with several hardware manufacturers in our environments, which provides dynamic development together with our suppliers. Another part of your job is to continuously work with life cycle management. You will also be given the opportunity to participate in various exciting projects locally and internationally, which provides great opportunities for development.

As an Operation Engineer you will be part of a team but we also see that you have the ability to work independently with external suppliers as well as colleagues around Sweden and Europe. For you as an individual, there are great opportunities for personal development and impact in the daily delivery.


Your daily tasks:

  • Linux Server Operations
  • Efficiency and automation of workflows and systems
  • Monitoring and alert management of infrastructure platforms
  • Patching and system updates
  • 3rd line troubleshooting for infrastructure issues
  • Working in projects for new technical solutions
  • Lifecyclemanagement and planning of IT infrastructure

Requirements

  • Broad understanding of IT and running a data center
  • Have a passion for troubleshooting of varying size and complexity
  • Understand and embrace high IT security mindset
  • A natural team player and understand the importance of collaboration and sharing experiences actively

  • Has a structured and methodical way of working
  • Is fluent in both Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Driving license B

It is meritorious if you have greater competence or certification in one or more areas, e.g.e.g.;

  • Virtualization platforms
  • Data storage and backup
  • Windows server
  • Networking (switching/firewall/routing)
