Vattenfall Vind is in an expansive and exciting growth phase and we look forward to hiring employees for our project development department for onshore wind power.

As Project Manager, you will work in the department responsible for developing Vattenfall's portfolio of land-based wind power projects in Sweden.

The role of project manager

The project manager is responsible for all components of the project and its progress; quality, schedule and budget. The project manager has overall responsibility for the project and reports to the sponsor and steering group, leads the project members and also works operationally in the project. It is particularly important that the project manager sees the whole and focuses on maximizing the project's profitability.

Each project member has responsibility for their respective areas. The responsibility as Project Manager means leading the experts in a good way, getting the team members to understand the whole of the project and creating a self-driven group that takes own responsibility within the respective area of ​​expertise. You will also be responsible for the contact with external stakeholders, such as landowners, authorities and other stakeholders. The role also includes internal coordination with various departments.

Project development is a long process that requires persistence and the project work can last for many years. We are continuously looking for new project pitches, both in the form of brand new project pitches and project acquisitions and you will be part of this. The majority of the time in project development is spent in the phase when we work to obtain a statutory environmental permit, a possible electricity grid connection and to carry out the necessary wind measurements.

The last phase before investment decisions is an intensive period, when the focus is on detailed planning, procurement and optimizing the projects to achieve good profitability. In the procurement phase, you will work closely with the construction project manager and procurement manager, where you will jointly structure, prioritize and drive the project work. In this phase, the project team is larger and many internal and external stakeholders make demands on the projects.

The projects may also include financing and partnering processes, as well as acquisition projects, where you run these processes together with dedicated resources. As a project manager, you can work in different phases, depending on the portfolio's development, but also depending on the project manager's interest, experience and strengths.

Requirements specification

We are looking for you who have;

  • Relevant and completed academic education, for example as a civil engineer and at least 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience from the role of project manager and wants to develop further in the role.
  • Good knowledge of both Swedish and English, both spoken and written, as well as good communication skills are necessary.
  • Good IT skills, where Office 365 is a key tool.
  • Driving license

Particularly meritorious with knowledge of and experience from;

  • The energy industry, especially electricity production and grids. Experience from project development of wind power is particularly advantageous
  • Negotiations and if you have been involved in writing contracts of e.g. lease agreement
  • Permit processes according to the Environmental Code
  • Concession management for electricity networks
  • Understanding of reindeer nutrition issues, reindeer nutrition analyses
  • Procurement work, preferably at a larger international company
  • Financing processes and acquisition processes
  • Planning tools such as MS Project

As a person, you need to be able to make decisions easily, create and maintain good collaborations and like to have a lot of contact with both external and internal stakeholders. As a person, you are positive, outgoing and proactive. It is also important that you are willing and able to take your own initiative. You enjoy handling many parallel issues and enjoy working independently as well as in a team. You have commercial competence in maximizing the profitability of projects, experience in making demands and challenging both internal and external deliveries. You create structure while having the ability to focus on critical detail issues. Location: Flexible but with the option of Luleå, Umeå, Solna, Gothenburg, Nyköping or Kalmar as a location.

This role requires that you have the opportunity to travel for work, approximately 8 days a month.
