Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and approx. 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are approximately 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. The Environment Department is part of Vattenfall Vattenkraft's Technology Unit , which, among other things, is responsible for Vattenfall Vattenkraft's technology management, dam safety, permit and environmental issues and plant management.
The Environment Department ensures the environmental work within Vattenfall Vattenkraft through management, follow-up and guidance. The department manages the company's properties and the obligations that follow from permit decisions. We also provide Vattenfall's power plants with so-called "modern environmental conditions" by reviewing these over a 20-year period according to the so-called "National Plan (NAP). Works to implement measures to promote biological diversity in regulated waters.
Some of our upcoming challenges are hydropower's extensive facility investments and dam safety and environmental measures, as a consequence of climate change, the EU's framework directive for water and re-examination of hydropower's environmental conditions according to the national plan (NAP) where sustainability issues are in focus.
Now we are looking for someone responsible for environmental permits and properties for Luleå or Umeå
In this position, you will work with permit and environmental issues and self-monitoring related to permits for hydropower and dam facilities in the Umeälven but also in other rivers when the need arises. The position also entails responsibility for the sustainable management of the hydropower's properties.
Examples of your areas of responsibility and duties:
We are looking for you who have a master's degree in, for example, energy and the environment, civil engineering, land surveying, roads and water, energy or the environment, or you have other post-secondary education that the employer deems equivalent.
You have at least five years' experience of working in the area of environmental permits and/or real estate and a genuine interest in environmental and real estate legal issues. It is advantageous if you have worked with hydropower and water legal issues according to the Environmental Code.
You are used to working independently, strategically and goal-oriented. The role involves a number of different contacts both within the group and externally. In cooperation with others, you are responsive, clear, trustworthy and interested in creating good relationships. You have good IT skills, GIS skills are a plus. You speak and write Swedish and English and have a B driving licence. Travel in the service is common.
