Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and about 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are about 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Hydropower's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society where we play an important role as an enabler for the sustainable energy system of the future.Our production corresponds to about 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. We are now looking for a security officer - personnel security and data protection (GDPR)

You will be part of our security administration department, where we are a nice and helpful team that handles, among other things, security protection agreements, security checks, authorization administration and data protection issues (GDPR). We are based in several locations in Sweden, this position is located in Luleå, Umeå or Storuman.

Here are examples of your responsibilities and tasks:

  • Ensure that we meet legal compliance requirements
  • Provide support and guidance to the business in the work areas
  • Manage, analyze and propose changes and improvements
  • Manage, investigate and document incidents
  • Develop instructions, interpret and work with internal and legal requirements linked to the Security Protection Act and the Data Protection Regulation
  • In addition to setting the framework for legal compliance, we also see that you work operationally in the areas of security clearance / personnel security and data protection / GDPR.

You will also work with general supporting tasks in security, for example, it can be about interpreting and introducing (new) requirements in hydropower processes and working methods and collaboration with other operators.

Our security work is based on the fact that we are one step ahead and that we actively work with business intelligence, statistics and underlying analyzes. As a security officer, you are very important for hydropower security work, the threat picture for the energy industry is changing and the legislation clarifies the requirements for the protection of our operations.

Requirement specification

We are looking for you with post-secondary education in security or IT, or you have acquired equivalent competence through relevant work experience.

You have experience of working with personnel security and data protection issues (GDPR) and we see that you have good knowledge of the application of the Security Protection Act and/or the Data Protection Regulation. It can be an advantage if you have experience working in larger (national) organizations and/or in the energy industry.

You are orderly, communicative and apply a proactive approach. You are used to taking responsibility for planning and driving your assignments. You are comfortable switching and prioritizing between different types of tasks.

As a security officer, it is important that you act in accordance with decisions made and are courteous with high integrity. The work means that you have many contacts and therefore you also need to have good knowledge of Swedish and English (both spoken and written). Travel occurs, you have a B-driving license.
