Company description

Vattenfall Vattenkraft is responsible for Vattenfall's 90 hydropower plants and approx. 300 dams in the Nordic region. We are approximately 500 employees in Sweden and Finland with headquarters in Luleå. Hydropower's renewable electricity production is a prerequisite for creating a climate-smart and fossil-free society where we play an important role as an enabler for the sustainable energy system of the future. Our production corresponds to approx. 25% of Sweden's total electricity needs. In order to deliver high availability in our production, we need to constantly challenge ourselves, develop our working methods and take advantage of digital opportunities.

Job description

Do you want to have fun at work and at the same time work for a fossil-free society?

Now you have the opportunity to do it with us at Vattenfall Vattenkraft. We work together for a fossil-free society. To reach our goal, we need committed employees who want to contribute to a better climate on our planet. You become an important part of that work!

Now we are looking for more system engineers IT/OT for Luleå, Jokkmokk or Sundsvall!

As an IT/OT systems engineer, you mainly work with hydropower's process-related IT infrastructure. The work often involves working "hands on" with both hardware and software with everything from fixing errors and deficiencies to building and configuring different solutions, as well as following up on system alarms and verifying causes. Part of the work involves troubleshooting in complex and distributed IT environments with many integration areas and wide geographical spread.

All parts of the work are permeated by a strong focus on IT security. Experience with and commitment to IT security issues is important.

Requirements specification

You have post-secondary education in IT, or other experience and education that we consider equivalent. You have worked for at least a couple of years with operation/maintenance of IT systems, preferably in data center/server operation.

Our IT systems are often part of so-called industrial control systems (ICS) where the systems both control and monitor our facilities. Experience of working in environments with industrial IT systems is therefore meritorious.

You have knowledge and experience in some of the following areas:

  • Server operation/storage solutions and backup
  • Operating System - Linux and Windows
  • Directory services - LDAP, Microsoft AD
  • Network - switches, routers, firewalls
  • Virtualization platforms, for example VMware, KVM

  • IT security - PKI (Public Key Infrastructure), authentication, encryption
  • Automation/scripting - Python, Powershell, bash, Ansible or similar
  • Telecom infrastructure - mobile telephony/GSM/LTE, Rakel
  • Experience with frameworks such as ITIL and associated processes is advantageous.

With us, you will be faced with tasks that will test your creativity, initiative and cooperation skills. We place high demands on our employees' security and privacy awareness. System readiness and travel will be included in the position. You have a B driving license and good knowledge of both Swedish and English.
