About the role

Vattenfall has a clear strategy to develop a fossil-free society and be a leader in the green transition and we are proud to play an important role in meeting the increased demand for fossil-free electricity production. In order to do so, we see that all fossil-free power sources will be needed, which is why we have now established a project to create conditions and develop and establish new nuclear power.
As part of this, Vattenfall has created a new staff unit - New Nuclear (GX) - within the Power Generation Business Area, which is responsible for the development of new nuclear power. At the same time, work continues to develop the new nuclear power project on the Värö Peninsula in Halland, with the goal of having a plant in operation by the mid-2030s
We are now looking for a Technical Director who, with strong leadership and technical competence, can take responsibility for the entire technical part of the project.
About the position
The Nucelerate West project is part of Vattenfall's investment in new nuclear power, with the goal of establishing a new nuclear power plant on the Värö Peninsula. The project is one of Vattenfall's most strategic investments and is of great importance for Sweden's long-term energy supply.
You will be a key person in the project management and report to the project manager for Nucelerate West. Organizationally, you belong to the staff unit New Nuclear (GX).

Requirements
About you
You have a genuine interest in technology, societal development and sustainable energy, and are motivated by working in an environment where innovation, safety and sustainability are at the center.
You have a Master's degree in engineering or equivalent education in a relevant field. During your career, you have built up solid experience in leading parts of technically complex projects in nuclear power, the energy sector or other advanced civil engineering.

You are used to making informed decisions even under time pressure, and have a natural ability to see the big picture while not missing important details.
