About the thesis

Svensk Kärnbränslehantering AB, SKB, is working on one of Sweden's largest environmental protection projects. SKB's mission is to take care of all radioactive waste from the Swedish nuclear power plants. This must be done in a safe way for both people and the environment. The thesis will be carried out within the Technology Department, which has a company-wide mission to design and develop all of SKB's nuclear facilities.

SKB has two plants in operation and will build large facilities above and below ground. In the operating phase of existing plants and the planning phase of the new ones, it would be desirable to consider Life Cycle Costs to be able to substantiate investment decisions, etc.

The purpose of this thesis is to develop a proposal for a calculation model for Life Cycle Costs and how Life Cycle Analyses can be consistently used in SKB's daily operations both in the planning of new plants and maintenance work in existing plants.

Your profile

We are looking for student(s) who want to work towards a fossil-free life within a generation and who will soon graduate from your academic studies. You are also someone who identifies with our principles: Active, Open, Positive and Safety

• Civil Engineering with specialization in Civil Engineering / Road and Water
• Scope 30 credits
• Swedish or English
